D&E Machining is currently seeking a CNC Lathe Operator with 2+ years of experience for full-time and/or part-time with flexible hours available on both 1st and 2nd shift. There is a substantial shift differential for 2nd shift employees. The ideal candidate will perform the day-to-day operation of the machining of customer parts to dimensions specified on the print, will edit programs as required to produce optimal results and seek opportunities to reduce machine time and increase efficiencies, participate in team meetings, designate proper delineation of all scrap, communicate quality concerns, and perform general upkeep of the machine.
High School diploma/GED;
2+ years CNC Lathe machining experience preferred. Ability to read micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices. Experience with CMM’s is desirable. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, and will occasionally be required to reach above shoulders and lift up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud noise. Safety glasses and safety shoes must be worn in the shop. This position requires employee to work in an indoor environment and come in direct contact with other staff and customers. The employee will be working near moving mechanical parts.
Full-Time 1st & 2nd Shift – 40 hours (Monday – Thursday) plus overtime when needed. Part-Time 1st & 2nd Shift – Flexible hours (Monday – Thursday).

There is a substantial shift differential for 2nd shift employees. The ideal candidate will perform the day-to-day operation of the machining of customer parts to dimensions specified on the print, will edit programs as required to produce optimal results and seek opportunities to reduce machine time and increase efficiencies, participate in team meetings, designate proper delineation of all scrap, communicate quality concerns, and perform general upkeep of the machine. 5 Axis CNC Milling experience is a plus.
